GOOD TO KNOW
General
- The use of the via ferrata is at your own risk. The Brunni-Bahnen Engelberg AG disclaim any liability.
- Only for vertigo-free, sure-footed and mountain suitable users.
- Check the weather conditions. In case of rain, storm or strong wind do not use the via ferratas.
- Not recommended for children under 8 years
Equipment
- Alpine equipment is necessary. These include via ferrata set, helmet and good footwear.
- Minimum weight for the fall brake of the via ferrata set is 40 kg. If a via ferrata set is used by a lighter person (such as a child), it must be belayed with an extra rope.
- Do not have blind trust in the steel cables, hooks and anchors. They could be damaged. (Report defects!)
Renting Equipment
- The via ferrata set (incl. helmet and harness) can be reserved in advance either by using the form below, by telephone (041 639 60 60) or by e-mail (info@brunni.ch).
- The via ferrata sets can be obtained at the Kräuterhütte at the Härzlisee.
- If the set is not collected one hour after the requested reservation time, the Brunni-Bahnen reserve the right to release the equipment in case of increased demand.
At the via ferratas
- Walk careful to avoid rock fall.
- Hold your distance to the climber in front of you. Between two persons should be at least one anchor.
- Carabiners should be clipped to the steel cable in opposite directions.
Mountain Guide
It is recommended to hire a mountain guide. A mountain guide can teach you the "know how" for a via ferrata and can belay you if necessary.
